The photo depicts the whole planet, with its rings, lined up on the black background of the universe. This is actually a series of photos taken in one, recorded on September 13, to make Cassini's plan on September 15 crashed into Saturn.

This probe has explored Saturn and its moons since 2004, and currently no spacecraft is studying this planet. Researchers will continue to study the data that came from Cassini for years.
